Company description
PIAP Space Sp. z o. o. is a Polish company established in 2017 as a spin-off of the Lukasiewicz Research Network – Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements (PIAP Institute). PIAP Space specializes in space robotics and MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment). Currently, the owners of PIAP Space are: Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and PIAP Institute.
PIAP Space offers grippers, force and torque sensors and robotic arms designed for servicing satellites. The devices are compatible with a range of unified solutions being developed in Europe. PIAP Space offers the subsystems necessary for the next stage of space industrialization. The company’s portfolio also includes projects in the area of planetary robotics, including the assembly and preliminary testing of the MSR Mars rover prototype.
PIAP Space is also involved in the design and manufacture of MGSEs for: the ATHENA, BIOMASS, ROSE-L missions, among others.
