Company description

Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals has been building and modernizing the Polish non-ferrous metals industry for over 70 years. Its activities include projects in the field of defense and security, covering areas such as: technologies for reserve and special-purpose batteries; hybrid power systems for specialized vehicles; power sources for manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous unmanned platforms, security systems, and control systems for missile systems and precision-guided munitions; new technologies for lightweight modular armor; modified heavy alloys for anti-tank ammunition; advanced materials for shaped charge liners; and additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies for armament production.

In addition to its work in defense and national security, the Institute’s highly qualified scientific and research staff carries out projects related to the processing of non-ferrous metal ores and other mineral resources, pyro- and hydrometallurgical methods of metal recovery from ores and concentrates, waste processing and recycling, materials engineering, metal and alloy processing, environmental protection, analytical chemistry of metals, as well as energy storage and electromobility.
